A very good book to use for diving into interpersonal regulation.

Very complete and thorough compilation of studies that will help you dive into the conversations around interpersonal regulation. Based on the table of contents itself, you will get a pretty comprehensive list of who is doing what in this line of research. I'm using this book to help me with my dissertation methodology and have found it extremely helpful. Ch. 10 was especially helpful to me, because Volet and Summers do a really good job of explaining the gaps in the research, as well as future directions for this work.

The book highlights Greeno's (2006) situative approach - and for those of you interested in this line of research, I would also suggest checking out Greeno's (2011) chapter, "A Situative Perspective on Cognition and Learning in Interaction" from Theories of learning and studies of instructional practice. It helped me understand a bit more about the analytical perspectives that some of the authors used in the book. Another compliment to this book would be Panadero and Järvelä's (2015) "Socially shared regulation of learning: A review," from the journal, European Psychologist. They talk about how interpersonal regulation, socially shared regulation, co-regulation, and self-regulation all fit together (and will also bring you up to speed on the 2 years worth of research that happened after this book was published).
